Human Trafficking: Identify and Investigate

(1 DAY COURSE)

Human trafficking is a global phenomenon that involves obtaining or maintaining the labor or services of another through the use of force, fraud, or coercion in violation of an individual’s human rights. This illegal activity generates billions of dollars in profit each year and has grown larger than the illegal trade of guns and drugs. The market for and trade of human beings continues to expand rapidly due to the decrease in global economic conditions and world events. We, as law enforcement officer, you should be prepared for the potential of human trafficking within your communities. This course will teach officers to identify the signs of human trafficking, investigate the potential crime, provide assistance to the victims of human trafficking and coordinate with other government agencies and organizations in the best interest of protecting the victims and prosecuting the traffickers.
