Courthouse Security Preparedness (1 DAY COURSE)

Because courthouses are accessible to everyone, they are vulnerable to random acts of violence. Courts must have proper and effective security procedures, technology, personnel and architectural features/ physical barriers, to not only protect the people and property on sight but to protect the integrity of the American judicial process. Although there is no one solution to issues concerning court security, proper planning and training must involve collaboration between security personnel, other emergency agencies and courthouse staff. This course was developed to help the officers, assigned to security, better execute their duties in an effort to deter, detect, contain or neutralize any issues that may arise in the courthouse.
